Wooden case with metal clasps built to hold and transport one set of Highland Bag Pipes.
Public Description
The Henderson Bag Pipe Case was donated to St. Andrew’s College by Mr. & Mrs. Robert Henderson in memory of their son James Irwin Henderson, SAC 1921-1926. James was a Sergeant Wireless Operator – Air Gunner, RCAF who was killed in action over Malta in November 1941 (WWII). It has been used by generations of pipers including J.K. Warren 1956-57, K.F. Holmes 1964, A. Addison 1971-72, P.R. Miklas 1975, 1976 and 1977, B.D. Hancock 1986, all of whom have inscribed their names. We are very pleased to have this reminder of the past in our Archival Collection.
