- A biography about Robert Burns, a Scottish poet, titled "The Real Robert Burns" by J.L. Hughes. This book belonged to the second Head of School, Dr. Bruce Macdonald. D. Bruce Macdonald was the second headmaster at St. Andrew's College, as well as the longest-serving headmaster from 1900 to 1935. He helped shape the college in it's early years, and was known to be a very grave looking man that was quite dignified. However, he was also an extremely kind man who connected with the boys and understood them well, earning both their love and respect. The author, James Laughlin Hughes, was principal of the Toronto Model School and author of multiple educational books.
