- A photograph of Captain Richard Brown '14 in full military dress. Richard attended St. Andrew's from 1908 to 1914, and later joined the 48th Highlanders Battalion stationed in France. He served in battles of Ploegsteert Wood, St. Eloi, and Ypres, and was wounded at Zillebeke. He recovered at home and soon rejoined his comrades on the front. He then fought and survived the Battle of Vimy Ridge, which awarded him the Military Cross for actions. However, he was mortally wounded at the battle of Passcendale and succumbed to his wounds on November 14th, 1917.
