- A photograph of Captain Melchoir Eberts '08 in his plane. Melchoir attended St. Andrew's from 1906 to 1908, and entered the West Point Military Academy directly after, graduating as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1915. He volunteered for aviation service as an instructor and later as a pilot. On May 15th, 1917, while performing a demonstration flight for the Texas Bankers' Association, rough turbulence caused Melchoir's plane to plummet to the ground, instantly killing him.
