- A formal photograph of Old Boy and benefactor Graham Towers '13. While at school, he won the Lieutenant Governor's Bronze medal, the Wyld Prize in Latin, and was first in the Lower Sixth. After graduating he fought in World War I at the age of sixteen, and then later went on to become the first Governor of the Bank of Canada from 1934 to 1954. Throughout his life he maintained his ties to St.Andrew's, serving on the Board from 1932 to 1959, and upon his passing in 1975 willed a large sum of money to the College. This money was used to establish the Graham F. Towers Bursaries. After the passing of his wife Mary Towers eighteen years later the College was gifted the majority of the Towers estate, which is still used today to fund scholarships. In recognition of this generosity the SAC library was renamed to the Towers Library.
