- A document with information on how John G. Housser earned a Military Cross for his actions at the Dieppe Raid. Between 1936 and 1937, Housser served as Second Lieutenant of the Royal Grenadiers, and, in 1938, he joined the Royal Regiment of Canada. He volunteered for active military service in 1939, serving in Iceland's "Z" Force (1940), in England (1941-1942), and at the battle of Dieppe in France (1942). In 1942, Housser was taken as a Prisoner-of War and detained in Eichstätt, Germany in Offlag 7B until the end of the Second World War in 1945.
