- Single fork in the "Kings" (shell and thread) pattern. Lion rampant; Crowned Leopard's head (London) assay mark; date ;letter "a", 1816; sovereign's head (Geo lll); maker "TB". Bought in Toronto as a nice example of Georgian table-ware. Date is 1816 - a year after Waterloo, and the birth of Charlotte Bronte, author of "Jane Eyre"- one of Donald Spence's favourite books, and two years before Duncan McKellar (born 1807) came to Canada from Glencoe in Scotland as a boy of 11.
