- One of Donald Spence's mother's silver tea strainers. Marked with a lion rampant_then "925" (parts silver in 1000) and word "Sterling". Probably American - common for them to identify Sterling by its composition i.e. 925 parts in 1000". "Brittania" silver in England is 950 parts and identified by a separate punch mark. Not used in recent years (too soft). Instead most English silver is identified with the lion rampant, which means 925 parts in 1000.
