A wooden cricket bat with cloth-wrapped handle. In the center of the bat is a plaque that reads "This bat was awarded to Fred M. Lyon 1918-1923 for batting, 125 Not Out vs. U.C.C. 1923".

Public Description

A cricket bat awarded to player Fred M. Lyon in 1923. Fred was a captain of the hockey team and the cricket team, as well as a Cadet officer. After graduating he studied Commerce and Finance at the University of Toronto and became a salesman. He remained an avid golfer throughout his life as well, becoming president of the Canadian Golfer's Association in 1978.
