- Public Description
- A pipe case used by various cadets between the years 1953 to 1991. John M. Hill '57 used the case from 1953 to 1955. After graduation he later became the Senior Trade Commissioner at the Canadian Consulate in Chicago. Julian Payne '59 used the case from 1954 to 1958, and has had a persistant love of piping all his life since. He now works for the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines. Rob R. Parker '60 used the case in 1957. After graduation, he worked for the CBC as a journalist for a time and later created his own consulting firm "The Rothwell Group" representing most famously the Canadian Tobacco Manufacturers' Council in the 1990's. He came under a lot of fire for working with tobacco companies, with many reporters likening his job to that of the main character in the satirical novel "Thank You For Smoking" by Christopher Buckley. Scott McNeill '81 was the next to use the case. After graduation he started his own landscape construction company, "McNeill Enterprises". Ian Cragg '94 used the case in 1991, and during school was a Drum Major, a Prefect, and attended the Nepal Trip of 1992. He now works as a mortgage consultant. John Farrugia '94 was the last to use the case. He was a Prefect while at school, and after graduating studied fine arts and earned his Masters and Phd. in sculpture at the Edinburgh College of Art, Scotland. He now owns and runs Craganrock Studio Inc. in Ontario.
