- Public Description
- A plaque displaying all winners of the Lawrence Crowe Memorial Cup. This cup is awarded to the best rifle shooting. Lawrence H. Crowe attended St. Andrew's between 1908 and 1915. He went ot study at the Faculty of Applied Science at the University of Toronto, but after the first year joined the Royal Naval Air Service for WWI. One day while patrolling the English coast scouting for enemy submarines, something went terribly wrong with his plane and he plunged into the sea. His body was recovered some time later and brought home to Toronto for burial. He was known by classmates and fellow soldiers to be an extremely kind man, always going out of his way to help others, leaving a good impression whereever he went.
